StackPlans Article Submission Guidelines

Types of Articles We Seek:

  • App Stacks:
    Share your insights on app combinations with listings of recommended apps and their uses, complete with some sample workflows. Check out our App Stack Template for the structure.
  • Thought Leadership:
    Contribute articles that enlighten and inspire our StackPlans audience on a range of topics, from technology strategy to emerging technologies.. Articles should be original pieces, not published elsewhere and should include examples, checklists, and frameworks when possible.

Categories include:

  • Technology strategy & planning
  • Software selection & implementation
  • Cloud computing & infrastructure
  • Data management & analytics
  • Cybersecurity & compliance
  • Emerging technologies

Length and Format:

  • Length:
    Articles should be between 800-2000 words in length.
  • Style:
    Use a clear, concise writing style with short paragraphs and subheadings.
  • Document Submission:
    Submit articles in a standard document format such as a shared google doc or .doc file
  • Essentials:
    Include a title, author name, and brief author bio (2-3 sentences) at the top of the document.

Content and Tone:

  • Value & Engagement:
    Articles should provide valuable, informative, and engaging content with the target audience in mind.
  • Tone:
    Tone should be professional, yet conversational. Avoid overly formal or technical language.
  • Relevance:
    Topics should be timely, relevant, and align with the existing StackPlans content focus.
  • Positive focus:
    Articles written about specific app stacks or software platforms should focus on the benefits of the stack or platform and avoid negative language about alternative solutions.
  • Originality:
    Provide original content that has not been published elsewhere.

Sources and Attribution:

  • Credibility:
    Use credible, verifiable sources and provide proper attribution for any quotes or data.
  • Hyperlinks:
    Include hyperlinks to external sources where relevant.
  • Permissions:
    Obtain necessary permissions for any third-party content, images, etc.
